L’Oréal Heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers Named World’s Richest Woman

For the second year in a row, L’Oréal heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers has been recognized by Forbes as the world’s richest woman.
 
According to Forbes, Bettencourt Meyers is worth an estimated $74.8 billion, approximately $1.2 billion more than a year ago, making her the fourteenth richest person in the world.
 
The 68-year-old French citizen is the vice chair of the board of L’Oréal, which her grandfather Eugène Paul Louis Schueller founded in 1909. Bettencourt Meyers and her family own about 33% of L’Oréal’s stock.
 
Bettencourt Meyers is also president of her family’s philanthropic foundation, which champions France’s role in the advancement of the sciences and arts.
